CJ SOCKET DESIGN
Created by our own founder, Keith Cornell, CP FAAOP, the CJ Socket is the innovative approach to prosthetics. This novel shift from conventional, rigid sockets allows patients to adjust the fit to match their bodies. Half of the residual limb is covered with the rigid J-shaped socket. This rigid section serves to transfer the skeletal function of the residual limb to the prosthesis.
The Sail is a non-elastic textile that serves as a structural component of the socket. It naturally conforms to the residual limb providing unprecedented flexibility and comfort. The sail includes a Spring Batton reinforcement that serves as an attachment point for the mechanical closure and prevents deformation of the sail under load.
Mechanical Closure: The Mechanical closure serves to adjust the socket volume by drawing the sail to the rigid socket from the Batton.
